The 2025 Solid Awards have been given to acknowledge the contributions of 5 Solid Screen Queens.  The Solid Screen Awards highlight the strength and talent of Indigenous women in shaping screen culture, honouring them as "Warrior Women" of the industry.  Each honouree embodies and enacts the spearhead movement and focus of the original cyberTribe vision: Shareena Clanton (Australia) for her Solid Contribution to Screen Culture, along with Gail Maurice (Canada), Kath Akuhata Brown (Aotearoa), Paula Fuga (Hawaii), and Brenda Matthews (Australia) for the Solid Screen Storyteller Awards.  This year marks the 12th Solid Screen Awards, and also an important part of the year long cyberTribe 25 Years Proud Honouring Ceremonies.

Jenny Fraser curates a Solid Screening of Indigenous Women’s short films from the cyberTribe archives centering Bundjalung Womens Screen culture. The 2024 Solid Screen Awards have been given to 5 Indigenous women representing a variety of roles in different media platforms and communities from across Australia and Hawaii.  The latest additions to the Solid Sisterhood are Sandy Greenwood, Natasha Wanganeen and Steph Tisdell from Australia, along with Ciara Lacy and Pake Salmon from Hawaii. The Solid Screen Awards honour Aboriginal Women and others who are contributing to the screen arts, Creatives who have contributed to their respective industries. Bundjalung women storytellers will be screening for International Womens Day celebrating their unique and valuable contributions to Indigenous screen culture at Lismore Womens Festival on campus at Southern Cross University, presented by cyberTribe . In the gathering spirit, Jenny Fraser has curated a Solid Screening of short films made on Bundjalung Country, Eelemarni : the story of Leo and Leva by Lorraine Mafi-Williams 1988 featuring Aunty Millie Boyd, Nguura Muruy 2023 by Sandy Greenwood featuring Gumbaynggirr Custodians and allies, and DURANGEN by Jenny Fraser 2023 also featuring Bundjalung native plant artists Euphemia Bostock, Faith Baisden, Deidre Currie, Tania Marlowe and Jasmin Stanford. The annual Solid Awards honour those who have long standing and also emerging careers in the screen arts, to acknowledge those creatives and technicians who have contributed substantially to their respective industries over decades. The Solid Screen Awards have been presented annually by Yugambeh organiser Jenny Fraser since 2014 and are home grown in Australia, with a unique focus on Indigenous Women around the world. “The awards are gifted to trailblazers in community as a small acknowledgement for the work they do in maintaining screen culture keeping communities informed and uplifted.   cyberTribe presented SOLID - an International screening of Indigenous Womens storytelling at the Lismore Womens Festival in the Northern Region.  FREE. Curated by Jenny Fraser, SOLID Screen included a range of short film works and digital stories from Aboriginal Australia, Kayche Festival in Mexico and other Indigenous women Digital Storytellers in an expression of solidarity. There was a Bundjalung Welcome To Country Ceremony at 10am at The Quad.  The SOLID Screening was held in the Underground Studio of the Lismore Conservatorium looped from 11am - 3pm on Saturday the 2nd March 2019, and showed works by and about women, and it was open to the public, for all. SOLID SCREEN was presented in August 2018 at Mount Saint Bernard College as part of NAIDOC celebrations and also at the Gallery Coffee Shoppe for a public screening in Herberton, on the Atherton Tableland in Far North Queensland.  Solid Sisters Documentary > We get an insider perspective of the lives and screen work of the SOLID SISTERS as they gathered at Innot Hot Springs in Far North Queensland for a healing retreat and festival in 2014.
